Stainless Steel Crown Workshop (half-day workshop: 4 CPD points)

Dr Sheyda Khadembaschi presents this hands-on course which will provide the General Practitioner with the fundamental knowledge for appropriate case selection and placement of stainless steel crowns in the primary dentition. The course will cover aspects such as:

  • The Rationale and case selection for stainless steel crowns
  • Clinical technique for tooth preparation and crown cementation
  • Demonstration and hands-on exercises on phantom heads

Stainless steel crown placement is the restorative technique of choice in primary molars with multiple surface carious involvement while access cavities for pulpal therapy can significantly weaken the teeth and risk unrestorable fractures. With appropriate selection of patients, stainless steel crowns will reduce the risk of failure and re-treatment by providing restorations which will protect and preserve tooth structure until the time of natural exfoliation. For more information on Dr Sheyda Khadembaschi, see her bio on the Presenter’s page. For more information on this workshop, or for registration details contact the Training Centre Coordinator.
