Dr Bob Hotinski

Dr Hotinski graduated from the University of Western Australia Dental School in 1969 and headed to the United States to continue his education at the University of Indiana where he completed specialist training in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics.

After completing the Master’s programme, he returned to WA and became involved with the UWA Dental School as a teacher of undergraduate and postgraduate dental studies in a full-time, part-time and honorary capacity. Since the move to Midland in 1988, he’s enjoyed full time private practice, which has culminated in the establishment of Concept Dental in 2004.

Dr Hotinski’s passion is training and education in conjunction with clinical practice–his key interests include the interdisciplinary management of complex adult dentitions, implant dentistry, aesthetically challenging cases, and CAD/CAM technology.

Dr Hotinski is a member of the following associations:

  • Australian Dental Association
  • Academy of Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontists
  • Honorary Member of Cambodian Dental Association
  • JF Johnson Society (USA)
  • Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International

Dr Hotinski has conducted many educational programmes and lectured to general dentists and specialty groups both locally and internationally on restorative dentistry.

Dr Mahnaz Syed

Dr Mahnaz Syed graduated from Guys Dental School in 1992. Following, she practiced as a general dentist for four years before obtaining a Diploma in General Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. During her training, Dr Syed was the recipient of the prestigious Frank Ashley scholarship for advanced study in Periodontics.

During her specialist training she completed her fellowship and membership qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons England.
With a passion for research and learning, Dr Syed continued her education at the Royal London Dental hospital completing a three-year treatment study investigating prognostic factors in relation to treatment outcomes in patients with aggressive periodontitis. She continued to work as a specialist periodontist in two multi-disciplinary centres in London and as a clinical lead in mucogingival surgery and implant soft tissue augmentation.

Dr Syed has been in Perth, WA since 2007 where she practices as a specialist periodontist in Subiaco and is a part-time clinical implant tutor at the University of Western Australia. Dr Syed is an ITI Member and a member of the American Academy for Implant Dentistry as well as the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr Sheyda Khadembaschi

Dr Sheyda Khadembaschi completed her Bachelor of Dental Science degree at the University of Western Australia in 2005. Five years later, she started a full time role as Dental Registrar with Princess Margaret Hospital. With a love for learning, Dr Sheyda was later accepted into postgraduate training at the University of Melbourne, which included working at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne and in the Paediatric Department at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.

When she finished her studies in 2013, she returned to Western Australia and is currently splitting her time between private practice and the UWA dental school as a Clinical Supervisor in the Undergraduate Paediatric Clinic.

Dr Khadembaschi enjoys all aspects of Paediatric Dentistry and holds a special interest in dental trauma management and behaviour management with nitrous oxide sedation.

Dr Pantea Motearefi

After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) degree in 2003, Dr Motearefi moved to New Zealand where she practiced private and hospital dentistry. Later, she moved to Brisbane to work in general private practice before returning to Perth for further training in Endodontics. In 2011 she graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics.

Dr Pantea is dedicated to continuing education and research. Her work has been published in a number of journals including the International Journal of Endodontics and Australian Dental Journal. Her interests include managing dental trauma, revascularisation and pain management and resorption.

Dr Pantea holds memberships in the following organisations:

  • Australian Society of Endodontics (ASE)
  • Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS)
  • Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontics (ANZAE)
